Epic Asian Markets Update

Asian stocks rose on Wednesday following a positive lead from global equities overnight on the back of upbeat economic data.

China’s Shanghai Composite rose 0.74 percent or 15.15 points at 2,062.47 and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng advanced 0.81 percent or 184 points at 22,896.78.

Japan’s Nikkei gained 1.12 percent or 177.08 points at 15,991.45 and Singapore’s Straits Times jumped 0.46 percent or 14.45 points at 3,135.33.

Taiwan’s Taiwan Weighted added 0.78 percent or 66 points at 8,578.30 and South Korea’s Seoul Composite was flat at 1,960.86.
