Major averages close at record highs on dovish Fed hopes.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 179.32 points, or 0.67%, to 26,966, the S&P 500 gained 22.79 points, or 0.77%, to 2,995.8 and the Nasdaq Composite added 61.14 points, or 0.75%, to 8,170.23.
