Epic Research Update : Asian Markets

Asian stocks were near record highs on Thursday, with a rally by Wall Street supporting bullish investor sentiment, while the dollar pulled back from three-year lows as the euro’s recent rally lost steam.

MSCI’s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan was 0.16 percent higher at 595.53, near the previous day’s record high of 595.80.

Australian stocks rose 0.2 percent, South Korea’s KOSPI added 0.6 percent and Japan’s Nikkei climbed 0.9 percent to reach its highest level since late 1991.

Epic Research Update : US Markets

Wall Street’s main indexes rose on Wednesday as investors’ expectations for higher earnings lifted stocks across sectors.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 270.7 points, or 1.05 percent, to 26,063.56, the S&P 500 gained 25.71 points, or 0.93 percent, to 2,802.13 and the Nasdaq Composite added 69.75 points, or 0.97 percent, to 7,293.43.

Sensex trims gains, Nifty trades around 10,750; midcaps give up gains

Equities are now steadying after witnessing a strong rally through the morning. The Sensex is up over 290 points, while the Nifty is trading around 10,750-mark. About 1567 shares have advanced, 1179 shares declined, and 273 shares are unchanged.

Gains in HDFC twins have added to the momentum, while ICICI Bank’s rally pushed up Bank Nifty. Auto index is seeing some correction, led by a fall in Eicher Motors and Hero MotoCorp of around 2 percent.
